Submit your own Stories for others to read and get inspired by! We are looking for unpaid and non-compensated stories to publish on the MY STORY page of the Positive Support Group main national page. Stories can be as long as you like, however, we might need to edit them for length and even content. We are seeking your own 'becoming diagnosed story' and how you dealt with it or are dealing with the news. It doesn't matter if you are gay or straight, learning that you have been diagnosed with an incurable disease sucks. Please read some of the stories already posted to get ideas, but most importantly, let your heart, mind and spirit guide you. You never know, some newly diagnosed person who is totally afraid and lost, could be inspired by your own story of strength, hope and bravery. We are looking for stories about (but not limited to the following topics) 1- Where you alone or with another when you got diagnosed, how did you feel and what did you do, how did your friend feel and how did they handle the news. 2-How long did it take you from 'thinking about' your diagnosis all the time to where you forget you are positive. Is there even a day that goes by that you forget you are positive? Tell others about your experience and feelings that you think might help a 'newbie' understand. Help the newbie understand that it's ok to feel crappy about this, but that time may help diminish the fear surrounding being positive. 3- Through your story, try and instill hope and tell others how you have been brave or not been brave and how being brave in the face of this incurable disease has changed you. Did this change happen suddenly, through the days, weeks and months following your diagnosis? 4- Tell us how you are doing today and feel free to tell us how crappy or good, having HIV/AIDS has been for you. You don't have to get real spiritual, but if you believe your diagnosed has changed you, bad or good, tell us honestly. 5- If your side effect and bullshit you have to go through with meds and side effects are bad or even good, lets hear the truth about all those aspects as well. Please feel free to rant, yell, cuss and swear in your story. The editors may calm it down, but the whole purpose is for impact and helping other poor folks who just got thrown into our positive pool of Americans. 6- Anything you feel moved to discuss. By sending us your email stories, you give us permission to post them on www.positive-support.org and NOWHERE ELSE. You will not be compensated for your story at all. We are a group of positive folks who are a non-funded not-for-profit organization. We take no state or national funds at this time. Lastly: You can add a Name and City/State or just say 'ANON' (if your name is attached, we will published your story and give you credit). If you are willing to let others contact you for mentorship or support, add your email and we'll be happy to post that as well. Please submit any stories (long or short) to Marcus at pridelabs@gmail.com **We reserve the right to accept, edit, change or post any submission. Some submissions may not be used, while others may be rotated amongst our pages for research and peer to peer positive support education. We are really just real people trying to make a difference by helping others! |
